It is that time again for the Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge Beer Fundraiser! Join us on July 13th from 5-9pm at Canteen Brewhouse for a beer with Friends, and to support the Friends and Refuge! During the event, Canteen will be selling a Valle de Oro Summer Ale and Pint Glass Combo for $10.00 with a portion of proceeds benefiting both the Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge
and the WildfireNetwork
It turns out that the 2018 commemorative pint glass has a hilarious typo presenting Valle de Oro as a Wildfire Refuge instead of Wildlife Refuge. This mistake presents a great opportunity to promote and support one of our nonprofit partners the WildfireNetwork
who works locally in pursuit of community wildfire resiliency. We will be sharing a portion of proceeds from both this event and our past events where our 2018 commemorative pint glasses were sold with the WildfireNetwork
to promote wildfire resiliency and conservation of our public lands.
Beyond the event on July 13th, the Valle de Oro Summer Ale will be on tap at the Canteen Brewhouse
and Canteen Taproom
through the end of July, or until it is tapped, with a portion of proceeds continuing to benefit the Friends! So be sure to stop by through the rest of the month, invite a friend, and enjoy this delicious Mango Summer Ale!
The mission of the Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge
is to help shape and support the development of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge
. We will foster a community conservation ethic by promoting environmental and cultural awareness through public educational programs and recreational opportunities
works in pursuit of community wildfire resiliency by working with young adults and communities to promote firefighter safety, job development and youth mentorship. Through wildland fire and land management training, we employ and mentor at-risk youth in forest health, wildfire mitigation and safe firefighting techniques. We educate K-12 youth about natural fire processes within their environment and provide aid to communities with wildfire risk reduction and property stewardship.
