Walking with Poets is a series of walks through the Río Grande Bosque, hosted by local poets and highlighting the work of poets we love.
Poetry written along and inspired by walks can be submitted for consideration into a bosque poetry anthology, to be edited by Michelle Otero, Albuquerque Poet Laureate.
«Walking With Poets» will take place on the fourth Thursday of each month from July through October.

Meet: Rio del Norte Picnic Area (just north of Central Ave & West of Tingley Dr)
An accessible loop trail winds under a shady canopy of cottonwoods. The trail provides excellent views of the river and migratory wildlife such as ducks, geese, and Sandhill cranes. The accessible trail connects to longer walking trails through the bosque.
The Rio del Norte Picnic Area on the east side of the Rio Grande can be accessed via the Paseo del Bosque multi-use trail.
Parking: NW corner Tingley Dr and Central
Vehicle access is north of Central Avenue and west of Tingley Drive near the Albuquerque Biological Park. Limited parking spaces are available.
If this lot is full, please park north of the duck ponds on Tingley and use the paved walking path to cross under Central Ave.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes (no sandals or open-toed shoes) and bring a journal or notebook for writing. You may also bring a hat, insect repellent, water, and an umbrella, if desired.
Please leave pets at home.
