This Month's Program
The afternoon will begin with an overview of current research about mindfulness in education and highlight examples of school-based mindfulness programs. Special guest Michelle DuVal
of The Mindful Center
will then offer a dynamic session on what mindfulness is, its benefits to practitioners, and a guided practice opportunity. Participants will have a chance to explore resources and share ideas for bringing mindfulness into one's professional practice. If you're looking for a new practice for the New Year, the opportunity to deepen an ongoing practice, or you simply want to learn what mindfulness is, please join us!
Reflect: Innovate: Act is a professional development series designed for all educators — classroom teachers, school leaders, and educators working beyond school walls. Since the Sofia Center opened its doors in 2013, we have welcomed educators from over 245 schools and organizations to our programs. We encourage and are grateful for the diverse voices, experiences, and perspectives that participants bring to each gathering.
Winter Stillness will take place in the Schoolhouse at Bosque School
, 4000 Bosque School Road, NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Schoolhouse is located immediately north of the flag pole at the center of campus. This professional gathering is offered free of charge, although registration is required (click on link below). The afternoon includes delicious food and good coffee. We are deeply grateful to the McCune Charitable Foundation
and our generous individual contributors for making this series possible.
